Peace
Here's an example of a PAD that was NOT taken for photographic technique. There are so many other things I love about this photo, taken from my bedroom upstairs looking down at my fur-babes sunbathing. I sometimes watch Cassie sleep and find Peace in doing so; I found myself watching these two this afternoon and feeling Peace as well. A few other comments:
- Let's address the obvious: the first flowers of Spring!
- I am very proud of our decision (aka, MY decision) to bring Dixie into our lives when we did so that our Coop would have a companion once the baby came. I am so happy these fur-babes love spending time together.
- I love that despite living on a busy street in a small house with many issues, I have a fenced-in yard where my fur-babes can be free to enjoy themselves without restraint.
There were about 4-5 more reasons I had in mind when I snapped the photo, but it's tired and my head is blank.

Improvising
I decided to hook my laptop (which has LR) to my monitor. It's amazing, the difference in the display - I need to transition my photo work to my desktop so I can use a real monitor and not just my laptop.

How did I get 4 days behind in PAD??? It has been a crap week, of little sleep, and, well, crap. The good news is, it is much better now, especially after a record 13.5 hours of sleep last night! :)
I took this one as I was leaving work on Wednesday. The clouds made me think of Lori...you call them 'decorative clouds' or something like that? Well, not exactly these - I think you call them that when they're more puffy, but anyway, they made me think of you. It was a gorgeously sunny and warm day that day, and the sky was beautiful as I was leaving work.

When did I get 5 days behind on PAD?? Oh yes, it was when I stayed up all night with teenagers only to come home and find my Lightroom to be corrupt.
(no Paul, there is no back-up - stop winking at me!)
I shall have to post unedited pictures for a while here - WOW it's like that dream where your high school is looking at you naked.
Speaking of high school, this is our High School Youth, bonding at midnight over The Princess Bride and a game called Quelf which is essentially a drinking game -- luckily we had hot chocolate to drink! ;)

I originally started to take this picture to send to my parents, to show them the new dress I got in the latest Monsoon sale, and I noticed how I kind of blended in with all of my books, like on the pages of Where's Waldo?. OK, maybe not, but that's what it looked like to me!
And the image has been overexposed in the post-edits on purpose, for effect :)

Sanity
We all have things that keep us sane at work, for Carmen it's music & her hubby Jake.
I saw this PAD opportunity as I was at Carm's desk today. She was just working away with this set-up to keep her going. Thank you Carmie for letting me use your Droid Incredible for this PAD, since my cameras were at home and my Palm Pre takes yucky photos.
(ahem, notice my Sharpie instructions in the back ~ my peep's desks are covered with those)

The End Is Near .... on Friday we FINALLY switch from Dish Network to DirectTV. Although we are going from one Satellite to another, we are optimistic that our service will be better. In the spirit of Gratitude, we've had terrible/spotty/no service since January and we've discovered that we really do not need to watch TV as often as we used to! We often opt to keep the radio on instead of TV. Cassie is at the age where a lot of parents plop the kids in front of the TV and so far, she has no regular TV-routine. She'll watch Elmo videos online but that's about it.
