Last Supper
Hurricane Irene was a-comin' .. we spent the day preparing - moving things from the yard to the shed, tying other things down & shopping for ice, dry food, water, candles, batteries. Oh, and moving Mom from her place on the window to somewhere safe. It had rained throughout the day, and by 5pm we were cranky. All the news stations and the governor asked everyone to be off the roads by sundown, but we had to get out for a bit - so we went to the diner for a quick supper. I had forgotten to PAD all day, with everything going on - so I was glad I snapped this one with my phone so I'd have something to use. It was a noteworthy experience actually - Miss Cassie was so good that 2 other diners stopped us to tell us how good she was! Not normal for a kid her age in a restaurant, and she's not always so great herself - so we were glad for a fuss-free meal after having a cranky day.

  1. Yay! Despite _my_ crankiness about kids, I do take note when kids are well behaved :) That is a real compliment - because most people are quick to complain when there's a problem, but not as quick to give praise!
Is she eating 'real' food now (not from jars)? And with a fork? :)

  2. Yep, my big girl eats everything (everything she wants to, at least!) and is doing pretty well with a fork! Her favorite food on the planet is blueberries. She'd rather eat fruit than anything else - most kinds. Green Beans (Canned, and NOT French-cut!) are her fave veggie, and of course pasta is a hit. Tomatoes and olives make great munchies, and Meatballs/meatloaf are her easiest meats - otherwise we use Hummus or Ketchup to mask other meats like chicken :)

Oh, and I should mention (proudly!) that she has no interest in chicken nuggets or french fries!!!
