I hate bugs and spiders. (I don't know too many people who love them) Living in Durham, we have our fair share of spiders. They usually die for crossing into enemy territory. This little lady took up residence on my bathroom ceiling. First, she was too far away to reach without effort, so she lived to see another day. The next day, she was there and I noticed she looked pretty. She had not crossed into dangerous territory (over my head where she might drop), so I let her be. The day of this photo, she had found herself some dinner and I kept checking on her while she prepared it. I thought about Charlotte from
Charlotte's Web as I watched her prepare her dinner through my 200mm lens. I announced to Jim that she's to be treated as an Ally and is not to die.
She's been there ever since - she keeps stringing her webs on both sides of the ceiling over my sink - I say, "Hello Charlotte" every time I see her. I'm a bit worried because she hasn't had a good meal since this Lady Bug (who's shell I found on my bathroom counter) - I am thinking of catching her a moth.
