"For Carmen"
I finally got the chance to visit the new University Library. It is a beautiful space for books, with great views of the sea. I thought of Carmen and her books, and how they also have a new home, out of the darkness of the storage facility and into the light! :)

  1. There was a feeling I had on my birthday, when Carmen came to Shantell's house for the first time. My family feels so comfortable at Shantell's - it's a feeling I don't even get when I go to my own family member's houses. To have Carmen there .. to mix my two dear friends on such a special day might have been the best part of the day for me. (but both of their cards were truly special in their own perfect ways, too!)

Then here we have PAD, born from a special place where photography makes me feel like home ... and now I have my two dear friends, Carmen and Amy, bonding in their own way.

I cannot tell you how much this picture, and the intent behind it, mean to me!!

NOT TO MENTION IT IS FREAKING TERRIFIC IMAGE!!! I might need to print it. Amy - would you please send me a copy via email?

  2. Thanks! :) I will send you a copy. I only took ONE when I was at the library - I chose this angle because of the light coming in through the windows. I enhanced it with editing, overexposing the image for effect.

The feeling you describe sounds similar to the one I felt when I got your present at Matt's house :) Pretty amazing!!

  4. ahhhh....if i were of the male persuasion it might be painfully obvious how much i enjoy this!
while reorganzing the boxes in the storage unit i took a moment (or 10) to say hi to my books. i have a not so sneaking suspicion that they will be the first things unpacked!!
now the question is, how do i arrange them? alphabetically? by genre? by size? or go with the HIGH FIDELITY method and autobiographically?
