More fun with light and shapes...

  1. I like this shot and I don't. First of all, I love the Sixties advertisement feel of it. The peculiar light and colors do wonderful things. The shadow in the foreground is cut off though and that just drives me crazy!

What is that thing? It looks like a perfume bottle.

How did you take this? Flash? On camera? Off camera? Inquiring minds want to know!

  2. LOL - you crack me up Mr. Blouin. Well, this quirky looking thing is an acrylic glass paper weight. It was made by hand by layering various square pieces of glass, then sticking it into a kiln to fuse it all together.

The cool thing about this picture is that it "feels" like a studio type photo. However, I simply sat down at my desk where the object lives - turned off the room lights - then had my son Ben hold a flashlight at various angles until I liked the reflection. No flash.

  3. I love this; the shot itself, the natural spotlight effect, the fact that Ben helped you take it, and that the foreground shadow drives Paul crazy! Good job on all fronts. :-)
