At first, I was discomforted by the off-balanced framing with respect to the road and its curve and direction. I understand why you took it since I take many photos like it myself where I know it's unbalanced and "wrong" but I'm usually hoping it will work all the same.
Most of the time, I'm wrong. Here, you were right.

I played with the angle of this SO many times. Do you balance against the tree that is my frame on the right side? Do you go with the road, or do you go with the trees in the center of the shot? So many options!!
Funny story, I stopped my car on the side of the road to take this (finally, one where I was not driving) - I was in front of my car and cars kept piling up behind me, honking their horns. I had no sympathy - there was no traffic coming from the other direction. I actually went to the driver's side and over-emphasized the gesture to go around me. One lady rolled down her window and yelled something at me like, this is not a time for taking pictures.
