As first I thought this looked really boring, but then I noticed the square in the circle and now I can't stop studying it. What is that square? Why is is seemingly flush with the boards? Is it just the combined effect of the four bulbs that seem to be in the fixture? Can I grab that central dark circle and unscrew it? Will I need my whole hand, or just a few fingers? What will happen if I do that?
