Every year on New Year's Day my wife makes us all eat Hoppin' John for good luck. I'm not sure if it's an official side-dish but we always have to have collard greens with it. This year a little horseradish and Captain Redbeard's Sharkbite Cayenne Pepper Sauce made it so much more delightful!
