Love the angle! Excellent! It's funny how train platforms all look the same - when I first looked at this, I thought it was a NJ Transit platform :) Did you sepia the image, or is this the natural 'glow' from the lights?
Thanks Amy! No sepia - just the orange glow from the lights. The one thing I wish I had played with more was the point of focus. I think this would have been a better picture if the POF was further down the platform. But, considering I just sat the camera on the ground and used a remote, I didn't think much of it at the time.
Cool effect of the lights! I know what you mean about rethinking things afterward - if this were my shot, I probably would have gotten caught up in the 'I'm radically changing the point of view by putting the camera on the ground' aspect that I would forget to pay attention to other things. True, the strong lines (lines!) of the platform create a great opportunity for dramatic vanishing points. Well, if you ever happen to find yourself on the platform again, you know what to look for... :) I still like the shot, for the fact that it presents an unusual view.
I like playing with motion and blur. I could see myself sitting on the platform waiting for a train to go by and playing with slow shutter speeds. But that's just me! :)
