What a refreshing perspective, I've been getting annoyed at the tree and lights and Santas ... I've been wishing elves will visit while I am sleeping and put them all away!! I feel like I need to put it all away ASAP as if doing so will make Spring (and longer periods of daylight) come sooner.
I know what you mean, but I've always had this weird nostalgic feeling during the first few days after New Year. Christmas is this 'magical' time, with fairy lights and a feeling of anticipation leading up toward the holiday (for whatever reason - family time, presents, a day off of work), and then once the tree gets taken down, it's like there's a hole there, where it was, and suddenly there is nothing to look forward to (except for spring, I guess!) Although, when you have decorations like mine (pictured here), clean-up is relatively simple, and the 'hole' is not as noticeable! ;-)
